A cinderella story
Shinshi Doumei Cross (or the Gentleman Alliance) is a manga series created by Arina Tanemura, published in the Ribon Magazine.
The story is about an 15-year-old girl named Haine Otomiya, who stays with her adoptive parents. In the past Haine was a so-called 'Gendou' (rioter), until a certain boy told her not to cry alone on a fateful winter's day- and that she should live her life how she wants to.
Later Haine realizes she had met this boy already- his name is Shizumasa Touguu - he was the author of a fairytale book Haine loved as a child. She wanted to meet him really badly, and was able to do so on a party - Haine being honest and straight-forward as we know her, immediately confessed her love to him. Well, that was as a child- and now they meet again.
Haine takes Shizumasa's words to heart, and thus also decides to attend the same school, a private school (Imperial Academy) which is a very difficult, but most of all famous school. All the students there are put into one of three groups, each having its own armband and badge.
But there's only one person who has the ranking "Gold" - Shizumasa Touguu (also called Koutei), the president of the student council. Strangely, Shizumasa is completely different from Haine's memories. The boy Haine fell in love with always had a smile playing around his lips, but strangely, the atmosphere around him now is rather cold..
Haine though, is ready to take each necessary step in order to brighten Shizumasa's life and to find out what is behind the cool mask he seems to wear all the time, and of course, also to make her own fairy tale romance true.

You can find a spoiler-free summary of the story line onto your left- but personally, for me, what makes Shinshi Doumei Cross the wonderful and awesome series it is, is the wide range of different characters.
